The local campground where we waited until my training was over Floppy Dog approved.
"Standby One" is without a doubt my least favorite aviation term my husband uses. I will ask him to help me with something and get the customary "stand by one." Which means I wait at least five minutes, then figure out how to do it without him anyway. In this case maybe the better term is "holding pattern." I'll be honest all the flying the plane type lingo isn't my "thing." Sure I've learned a lot more then I ever wanted to over the years about aviation (and now work in it myself) but flying the plane has never been my wheelhouse. Anyway once we got Maddie we were at a campground near my parent's house, my husbands parents house and it was cheap! The trifecta right? Not quite, as we discovered the first hot day in May when our power went out at the campground because everyone had their A/C on. The power issues turned out to be a consistent problem it went like this the power was good until about 1pm and then we would have to run the generator until about 9pm. Not ideal but because I had training in June we couldn't leave until it was over,I haven't actually worked in forever but I still have to do training, so we were biding our time and waiting until I was done. It did give us time to formulate plan of where to go, and to get things organized in the bus for the trip so it wasn't wasted time. We did find out about a week before we left they are adding new campsites to the local place we were at and they are going to upgrade the electrical grid to handle it, so when we go back in August it should be much better.
