Sunset on Superior
So our next stop (not counting getting the ac units) was Marquette. Which is a good size town, I wasn't expecting it to be so big. They have a great beach area and an old ore loading dock which was really cool to see. I have to say the further north in Michigan I go the more I love it. Watching the sunset on Superior was incredible!
Old Ore loading dock.
The campground was nice enough with long sites, the biggest problem we had was getting out it's basically a tight U-turn up a hill to get out, it worked but we had to back up a few times and use the grass to get out.
I'm standing on the road out, it was a tight right turn up a hill not ideal in Maddie.
I'm becoming more cognizant that it's hard to find campgrounds in the UP that are Maddie acceptable. In this case getting in wasn't bad and it had full hookups (another harder to find option up here) and it was a long gravel pad once we got to the site which was great but due to the tight turns getting out I would probably pass on this one again for us. This is also the campground where we discovered Maddie the Mobster was shaking us down for some new air valves as she started leaning really badly. At this point though we just thought it was because of the uneven gravel pad. The campground itself though was very pretty and it was ski resort, which was fun to walk around and explore.
No idea what my camera did here but it looks kind of cool
Ski lifts
The walk to the ski resort from the campground was beautiful
